M&S Delivery for Christmas

I have just been trying to order a new suit off the Marks & Spencer website.
Because I wanted it for a meeting on Thursday and my local store did not have stock, I went for the £4.95 named day delivery (which also covers next day). At checkout, the first day available for delivery was the 5th of January 2009!!!
So I called the helpline thinking this was just a website bug and have been informed that M&S are having "problems with their couriers" and as such, January is the best delivery I can be offered.
When I asked if this extends to standard delivery (normally 5 to 7 days) I was told that this MAY be the case as well.
So in other words, if you are buying stuff off the M&S website now, there is a very high chance you will not get your things delivered in time for Christmas (their words not mine).
I can see this being a big deal for a lot of people so watch out please.
