Thanks so in fact if you were on BT opt 1 with basic free 1570,and free caller display and you went to TT for line rental and wanted same features you would end up paying even more from the 1/2/2006.
BT monthly line rental including features £11. TT line rental £10.50 + 1571 50p + caller display £1.50 =£12.50p an extra £18 a year.
Also TT dont give you a calling feature free if you take 3 payable ones.0 -
Note that if you sign up for the BT Privacy option - free of charge - you get free caller display and BT send your details to the Telephone Preference Service which stops cold calls etc.

Thats right, I'm keeping a close eye on the wholesale market this year as I expect the number of providers to double with the recent decrease in wholsale cost.
I think by the summer we will be seeing line rental down to the £9-£9.50 mark with many providers offering cash back deals or free for the first x months (example PO Homephone).
I will keep the board informed.0 -

Or call: 0800 916 5544 (available 24 hours a day) - which is easier, it's automated.
This have been available since July 2005 (I believe - I think that was when I signed up - only use VoIP now - so all features are free
)
You don't have to register with TPS, you can just have the free Caller Display.It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -

Is this only available if you use BT for calls, or is it also available if you only use them for line rental.Nice to save.0 -

You just need to make at least one call per billing period via BT.
All is explained in the FAQ at: https://www.bt.com/btprivacy.
If you are CPS'd to another provider such as TalkTalk, Tele2, OneTel etc, just place a call back over BT by dialling the BT override code 1280.
As BT are cheaper for 0845 and 0870 numbers, and possibly certain 0844 numbers, you can use them for those.It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc...
