An odd request, but i'm looking for a second hand camera shop, ideally in central london. The kind that will have proper knowledgeable staff and might want to buy old old Panasonc FZ5 and part-ex for a external flash for my new DSLR
The closest i've found is an old camera shop in St Albans, but it's closed on Sundays
Any ideas?

Tottenham Court Rd. Full of them. Try CEX next to Goodge St station. Mostly in the northern end or Holborn areas0

Tottenham court road is full of new stuff being sold at bad prices (mostly by shops all owned by the same people). It's the one place I avoid when trying to buy gadgets.
My dSLR could use a 20 year old external flash (i've tried on of my dad's old ones).. i don't see the point in buying a new one0 -
I'd suggest "London Camera Exchange". As the name suggests they started in London and have quite a few shops around the UK now. Great, friendly AND knowledgable staff.
Here's their website: http://www.lcegroup.co.uk/

EDIT: london branch =
98 Strand

Cheers. I just looked on cex.co.uk and they'll give me £65 in vouchers for FZ5.. not bad really0

Turns out, there's loads of second hand camera shops near the British Museum.... for people that are into collecting second hand camera lenses (like me!)0

TTL power setting, zooming, flash compensation setting direct on camera for starters?
Only a modern flash suitable to the camera can offer these functions not a manual 20 year old one.0 -
Let me Google that for you...

Google isn't always very good you know.. especially at finding real world shops. Google maps is much better
I got a 300mm manual focus Steinheil Lens that fits my Panasonic L10 (with an OM adaptor) for £30.. it's actually quite easy to focus and takes quite sharp shots hand-held. This was from these guys - http://yorkcameras.co.uk/
Manual focus lenses and manual setting flashes. Yeh.. not so much for a beginner... but i'm not stupid and have got some nice results from them0
