Natwest Black Card

in Credit cards
There was a !!!!!!!! standing in front of me in the queue at LK Bennett today. When it was his turn to pay for his purchases he began to act really quite strangely. Instead of just putting his card into the chip and pin machine, he started waving the card around and then gave me a sort of sidelong look. Then his female partner looked at the card and looked at me, as if to make sure that I'd seen the card. Then he finally put the card into the chip and pin machine. when he pulled the card out, he waved it around quite a bit again. I noticed (how could I fail to notice?) that it is a Natwest Black Card. Is this meant to indicate some kind of prestige or something? The knob-end with the card certainly seemed remarkably chuffed with himself.

....what a !!!! though for doing that....some people!!
His conduct just made him look like a knob. Presumably he was trying to impress?0 -
Paying £250 a year doesn't impress me. Says "charge me more, I'm too dim to keep my money"0

Fools and their money eh!0

What a snob, I bet he doesn't even qualify for an AMEX Centurion (£1500 annual fee).0

All I ask is the chance to prove that money can't make me happy.0

IMPORTANT INFORMATION - CALCULATION OF APR IN THE SUMMARY BOX
We draw to your attention that the typical APR shown in the Summary Box has been calculated under the Consumer Credit Act regulations which require us to use a £1,500 notional credit limit. The £1,500 limit coupled with the £250 fixed annual card fee distorts the advertised APR.
This is illustrated by comparison with the 16.8% APR variable calculated using the minimum credit limit of £15,000 on NatWest Black Card, as reflected in your card agreement.
Please note that the annual interest rate of 12.420% p.a. on your NatWest Black Card remains unchanged. We are not increasing the cost of using your Black Card but are simply complying with regulations.
If you have any questions on the disparity between the advertised APR and the APR in your card agreement please contact Black Card on 0800 923 5904 or Minicom 0800 028 5304.0 -
That rate is artificially high because it takes account of the annual fee for holding that particular card.0 -
MSAD, the customer in front of you was what we in the industry call an "absolute c*ckend". Lots of wealthy people don't feel the need to flaunt their money around as if the cashier at Tesco will suddenly drop to their knees and worship them because of it, however, the !!!!!! you encounter probably thinks that every pound in his bank account is another inch on his penis. Sadly, he is most mistaken, which is part of why his wife sleeps around. (I don't actually know that, but someone insecure enough to show everyone they have a posh credit card has probably been cuckolded at some point, and it may as well be now.) Other symptoms of being an "absolute c*ckend" include being outraged if their card is declined, an attitude that everyone is out to get at them and their precious precious cash, that anyone who does anything for them is in some way beneath them and erectile dysfunction.
There are three actions you can take for this kind of raging f*ckend - you can either point out an obvious or embarrassing flaw with them (i.e "nice card, but your flies are undone"), punch them repeatedly in the face for being a preening sack, or comment that if he were truly posh he would be with Coutts. (If he at that point gets out a Coutts card, you should go with the second option, as there's really no hope.)
Considering that these are the same sort of pricks who shout at service staff at the slightest inconvenience, or treat them like slaves, I have a vested interest in taking up themselves !!!!!!!s down a notch. Good luck.0 -
Well I have the natwest black and private credit cards, for me I have them because of the benefits, in the case of the black the insurances are great and so is the concierge service (even better than amex centurion, which I have cancelled) TBH the amex black used to turn heads but then it got common and the service went down the pan. I like service not prestige and i don't mind paying for service!0
