Saving your details on websites... query

Hi,

My mum is having a problem with facebook and barclays banking. She ticks the box to say 'remember my details' each time she logs in but it doesn't remember them.

I've had a brief look. Cookies is the obvious and I've enabled them. But no difference. They have the Virgin Media PC Guard running. I couldn't spot anything, but I don't know it to the nth degree.

Any ideas anyone?

I would not tick the option to 'save details' when it comes to online banking, IMO :)

PC Guard is absolutely awful as security software

I would suggest replacing with a decent firewall and Anti Virus software
(In fact it was a firewall that I found was stopping my computer from remembering sites too)

Still, I agree with free, its NOT a good idea to remember bank details etc
Main reason? If your computer dies and you send it to be repaired, then the repairer will have access to ALL saved passwords!

They (banking sites) never save all the details needed to login. Some just username/id and others allow a shorter login (eg a full password together with some other item).

I have found having the ID saved when it is a random number is helpful as my passwords and other items are changed fairly often.
