I wanna make some 'velux' blinds

Options
......if it is posible.

I am currently getting my house ready to sell and we have velux windows in our loft conversion (3).they have never had any covering as we have never really used the room. Is there any way of making blinds fro these windows?

I've made roller blinds and roman blinds and curtains, but can't find anything on these type of blinds.

Any suggestions....

Thanks

I don't think they are very easy to make yourself because you need to have side rails (if that's what they are called) and stiffened fabric so the blinds don't sag away from the window.

The proper Velux ones are expensive but they are also the best you can get. You can get 'imitations' for lower prices - they don't usually fit as well, and also don't last as long as the proper Velux ones (as I found out to my cost  when I had to replace my 'bargain' ones after 2 years...).

But the imitation ones might be good enough for what you need. Do a search on eBay for Velux, you might find a bargain. Make sure you give the shop the correct window number - the Velux website tells you how to find it on your windows.
  • my mother in law made some, you can buy stiffener that you iron on to fabric to make it hard. will check out what she used.

That's a good idea to use stiffener as from what I have seen, some of the 'proper' blinds are like roller blinds in tracks. Do you know what your MIL used to hold them to the window?

    Thanks
