Nikon complete the picture promotion - been rejected - fuming.

I purchased a Nikon P50 compact digital camera from Asda Direct last week.
http://direct.asda.com/Nikon-P50-Digital-Camera/000619838,default,pd.html
It was on promotion, reduced from £150 to £75. I also purchased a digital photo frame in the same transaction for £49.00. There is a promotion advertised on the Argos Website whereby Nikon will refund up to £50 on a photo frame purchased when a camera is purchased in the same transaction.

I completed the form for the promotion and sent it, with a copy of the Asda order, and payment info. Got a letter back this morning rejecting the claim as I hadn't included the till receipt/invoice. Well, it didn't have a till receipt - it was an online order. It had a despatch note, but no invoice. I will be calling their customer service line on Monday morning, but has anyone got any ideas what I can do to get my £49. I wouldn't have bought the camera without the discount or promotion so I'm really disappointed. Thought I might send them an email before Monday so any thoughts on content also gratefully received. I don't know what else I could have included and it seems extremely unfair to me.
Thanks.

Have you asked ASDA for an invoice? I assume they could give you one if you asked.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

I think you need to edit your post to say ASDA Direct instead of Argos.
(Took me a minute to work out what you were talking about although it's been a long & horrible day).0 -
How can I edit a post - I will correct it to say ASDA not ARGOS!:embarassestayathomemum0

Oops, just found out how to do it, now says Asda.
Been one of those days!stayathomemum0 -
Check the small print for stuff like "participating retailers" etc.
Then photocopy everything (just in case it goes "missing". ) and write a letter (polite).
Dear Blah Blah,
I bought a ... and ... in good faith as a result of the promotion in the belief that I would be eligible for the .......I can't provide a reciept as it was an online blah .....Online sales usualy provide an invoice (copy enclosed) and email acknowledgement (enclosed) with unique invoice numbers (which can be checked with the retailer.
I would appreciate it if you could provide the cash back to me as a sign of good faith for my loyalty to your brand. I feel confident you would like to keep this customer a VOCIFEROUSLY happy and satisfied customer.
Yours
......
If you don't get the cash then slag them off to all and sundry making sure that at least 30 people you know hear the story. Post it in the Vent forum and any other forums you frequent. And never buy another product from them. And then at least they will have lost out on a few thousand quid of sales as a result.
Lowepro tried this on with a promo they ran, "receipt" was too narrow for our "invoice" from an online "approved" retailer. It took a few weeks but we got a result.0 -
You should get it cos hubby bought a Nikon last year online from Jessops and all he did was print off a copy of invoice stating he`d bought it,
I also bought a Cannon camera last year online & got my cashback.Good luck.0 -

It's the weekend, they've all gone home, no point emailing them now.
Wait until Monday morning to bore them."Love you Dave Brooker! x"

Too text book.
People who frequently deal with complaints see through wording like this (and get bored of it). It doesn't really work, letters like this are all very same-ish. Something with more genuineity is much stronger.0
