British or English

FWIW I put that I am English, and if a form only lists British, I will complete the 'Other' box and write English. I don't know why, but I have a feeling it originates from my football affiliations?
OP, if ever you plan to go to Ireland I would recommend doing a bit of reading before you go - Ireland is not a part of GB, and suggesting such a thing would offend many Irish!
Agreed. I am fiercely patriotic and always ensure that my nationality is known as Scottish:D
am just wondering why Jacklink (who is a known troller) is asking this as they were unemployed earlier this year (apparantly) and claimed benefit so must hace filled out the same application.
Our Jacklink can chage persona (and sometimes sex!) and likes a good potential trolling session on the CSA board....just a word to the wise;)0 -
Errr... given that he (she?) asked if they should put 'British' or 'English' down, and later commented that they'd never been abroad I'd hazard a guess that they were born in England. It's just a wild guess though, I might be wrong...
Errr... it would not surprise me in the least to have it confirmed that he (she?) was a Little Englander or that he (she?) expected us to assume that.0 -

"FWIW". What is this comment worth?
"I don't know why". Are we surprised?
"Ireland is not a part of GB". Classic!0 -

Why have you addressed a comment to the OP, but referred to my post?
Edit: I've just looked at your past posts, and you appear to just go round making trouble. No need to respond to my question, as I won't be responding to you.Gone ... or have I?0 -

You're right – it's not part of Great Britain, although given your obvious surprise (!?) at this comment, I guess I should commend dmg24 rather than you for pointing it out.
I can only assume that you're one of the uneducated few who see Ireland (Eire) and Northern Ireland as being one and the same just because they are part of the same island. By that logic you probably fail to recognise Scotland and Wales as separate entities as well. No point in trying to educate a fool though... so I'll leave it there. If I don't respond to your posts, it's probably because you're on my 'Ignore' list.0 -
Personally, I hold a British Passport and we/I am referred to by Immigration and the Home Office as a British Citizen because I hold this document (I watch far too many airport and boarder security programmes on Dave lol)
Therefore I class myself as British. I have never lived outside the UK nor was I born abroad so I consider my Nationality to be British (Or Scouse-lol)Loan-£3600 only 24 months of payments to go!!!
All debt consolodated and cards destroyed!!
As D'Ream would sing 'Things.....can only get better'!!!0
