  • Been into town today with the wife and kids and its as busy as I've ever seen it. Obviously not enough people reading this sub-board otherwise they'd know better and be sat at home contemplating suicide :rotfl:

I too went into the local town centre today and it was heaving....but then it was Christmas lights switch on and people always go to that as it is free. We also had a continental market and although busy, not many were buying at the eeekkk prices although eldest proved his worth as a wheeler dealer and asked if we could have 2 large Polish hotdogs priced at £3.50 each for a fiver...and they agreed! Think I have taught him well....

My parents went to Norwich christmas shopping and they also report it was very busy..they really pushed the boat out and my mum spent the huge total of .....£10 so who knows if others were the same, looking but not buying.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Well, cars were queueing a very long way back from every multi storey car park in Norwich today - if they are paying the extortionate parking charges I assume they were there to spend their dosh.

I keep reading about 80% off at MFI, is this a fact?

My parents took a coach trip to Norwich...cost them a fiver for the pair of them!

They couldn't have even driven half way there for that cost.....

  • Tried to book at two nice local restaurents for next week (table for 2) competely booked on saturdays till xmas.
    Bluewater is heaving.
All the restaurents at the O2 looked pretty full tonight as well.
Not sure the masses have heard about the credit crunch or else every one is spending that huge VAT saving Brownie has given us.
  • Today was busy, last Saturday was busy...BUT what about the week days? They are DEAD!!!
I used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another, so please feel free to ignore this.

Dont know about that Brian. I do know that when we went to a restaurant last Thursday, we had to try 4 different places before we could get a table for two - which really surprised us. (and it was because they were full, not because we didnt have the right dress code :))

I have to go out tomorrow to various retail places and we'll pick up dinner out too, I expect - I'll report back.

Restaurant business may be different, i'm talking about outdoor clothing & footwear (not made clear in my post above)....Millets/Blacks type trade.

What are weekdays normally like? I know when we went on a late deal holiday in August we went to the late night shopping to avoid people and it worked - there was pretty much no one about. Even in the better times there must have been quiet days/times.
