If I were in Staciep88's shoes, by now I would be really worried and probably quite frightened that I was being stalked in life as it would appear I am now being followed in cyberspace.

I'm sorry to have to tell her that it would now appear that there are two separate members on these forums who are trying to steal her identity. In accordance with international laws on slander and innocent until proved guilty, I make no outrageous accusations but simply ask others to weigh up the evidence, make judgement, and take action upon it. Stacie may decide to report these copycats to the moderators in order to protect herself. I am more than happy to assist and should the mods wish to contact me, I have a full and cross referenced list of the several hundred coincidences that have so far appeared.

Not only did we have Penpops duplicating 99% of Stacie's life and circumstances, I have now discovered that a character called Secret Squirrel88 is also creeping up on her and presenting Stacie's realities as her own. Quite light study of Secret Squirrel's post history reveals them readily. The similarities are so striking that I feel honour bound to list them:-

Has a birthday on Christmas Day
Is 19 approaching 20
Has a boyfriend of identical age, always referred to as OH
Has been seeing him for identical time
Has been living with for an identical time
Has almost identical salaries in place
Work for her parents' company
Live or lived in property owned by her relative
Live 45 minute drive from her parents
Spells Christmas without a capital letter
Can't wait to start a family
Should be debt free at almost identical time
Got a car of almost identical value, also on finance
Boyfriend's parents have identical annexe at their home
Their annexe also once occupied by SiL and partner
Suggests that she trained as beauty therapist of some sort

And, worst of all, she too lives in Cornwall!!


What is worse is that in her innocence, Stacie and her stalkers have been frequently and regularly thanking one another - how bizarre is that and what a nasty feeling of betrayal for Stacie to have to face!

I'm sorry to bring you worrying news but felt it my duty to make you aware that these fraudsters have been spotted and I will, of course, be making this potentially very frightening situation known to abuse. I apologise for my troll alert yesterday since clearly as Stacie joined mse in May 08, and the other two in September and October 08, they must be aping the original member.

The copycatting by the other two must be stopped since clearly, it is wasting the time and generosity of all the dozens and dozens of reponders who think they are responding to Stacie's genuine problems when it is now apparent that they are not. Off now to compose my PM to abuse. Good luck.

And maybe the post was not genuine but there are some people going through similar things who may for instance be too scared to post about it, so seeing the replies can give others a helping hand.

I cant see it that big a deal, especially seeing as you are not the one being 'stalked'

Right I'm confused: is the issue that Staciep88 has supposedly been attention-seeking by making up a story for sympathy? I'm even more confused by the alias thing - lots of people use an alias, someone might have to explain this in very simple terms to me lol!

As AM said, even if the thread was dishonest, the information could be very helpful to other people in similar situations. Sometimes there are good reasons for using an AE or asking the same question in more than one way. Who has been harmed in all this?
