In fact I'm really quite bad at anything practical....if my car runs out of windscreen wash and OH is away I have to go round to see my Dad and smile sweetly........I'm 37 :rotfl:
...that the screenwash in our....I mean her car, ran out in november.
I dont drive it very often. When I do, I find plenty of jobs that she's failed to tell me about.

Exactly my point - thats what OH and Dads are for! My OH is away tonight and he asked me if I was going to miss him.... I said no, because the bins weren't getting emptied until Saturday this week and he'd be back by then!!!

Our bath is about 5 years old and I think it is made of plastic. On the base of the bath about 10cms diagonally in from the plug hole is what I can only describe as a flake in the plastic. It is not so much a hole but more a slightly raised piece of the bath - if you really tried you could get your fingernail underneath and peel it back (Hope I'm making sense!)
Anyway, a very small leak mark (brown round the ceiling nail) has appeared on the dining room ceiling (room underneath) - so we called out a plumber today who says we need a replacement bath.
I had a brainwave tonight (whilst in said bath) - is there such thing as a bath repair kit/waterproof tape etc that would suffice - or do you think we need to bite the bullet and open our wallet?
Any suggestions/ideas welcomed!
Hole in the bath? Buy a plug !
(Sorry, couldn't resist it.)keep smiling,

Chewing gum is cheaper than Araldite and one pack will last for months if applied carefully - Probably half a stick chewed thoroughly and pressed carefully into the crack or hole will do. At 20p a pack and 5 sticks to the pack I reckon it will keep it going for 20 weeks at fortnightly applications.
However you could pick it off before it is washed away and give it another chew - should have quite a few minutes flavour restored .........qui tacet consentire -

If the hole is not under the chipboard base, then you could do a fibreglass repair underneth, but if it has affected the base chipboard then, you need to replace the bath.
And as you have said the bath suface is affected,so you realy do need to change the bath.
Go to the B&Q wharehouse in warrington, or give the Plumb Center a ring 01925 818614, also Warrington Slate Company and there is a Travis Perkins. if it's a standard bath 1700x700, rec min 6mm, but better if above.0 -

After looking again it is more a hairline crack the length of a thumb nail as opposed to a hole in the plastic, we think the water is seeping slightly through the crack - could we repair from the top rather than underneath?
Some type of silicone etc?0 -

You could do a fibreglass repair underneth, not on on top, and silcone won't work. But to be honest will only last a certain ammount of time,as we all know cracks get bigger with age;) also you will have constant movement with filling the bath with hot water and bathing.
you could take a look here
