Xmas abroad advice please

This year will be our second Christmas overseas; our children are 7 and 8. Last time they were 4 and 5.
We will be taking all their presents with us, in contrast to last time. At 7 & 8, it's all about the day for them and since we are staying with family, it will be a traditional Xmas at home, despite some of the day being spent on the beach due to the much warmer climate! If we were on a typical holiday, I doubt I'd do the same and would travel much lighter.
Prices and choice have dictated that we take everything with us. I even investigated shipping costs! Plus this is likely to be our last Xmas with two believers in Santa.
A lot depends on where you're going, what you're doing and the ages and personality of your children. Have a good one! We love Christmas in England so have decided we're not going away again for a while. Mulled wine, hmmmm0
