Woolwich \ Barclays

When Woolwich Bank merged with Barclays Bank I believe that Woolwich customers recieved some shares. If so, I am wondering if I would have been entiled to same, as at the time my mortgage was with Woolwich?

Thanks for any info.

When Woolwich became a bank we got woolwich shares.
When W. subsequently merged with B. we got our shares converted to B. shares.
  • Right now barclays shares are so low you could just buy them cheap instead with savings on your mortgage interest
  • I didn't get any shares when they changed to barclay's..

    worst thing that ever happened..
  • The reason mutual customers get shares is they own the business prior to a public float.
Just being a customer of a bank gives no share but the price point the arabs are buying barclays at is the same as the public share price right now
