It seems to be a firefox thing. Wouldn't work for me in firefox but fine in IE.

Wouldn't touch firefox with a bargepole :) And I work in IT security and anti-virus support before anyone tries to tell me how much better than IE it is :)

As does Firefox... it simpy just doesn't have a large enough market share yet for virus creators to bother targeting it yet. It has more holes than a swizz cheese :) Virus creators want to be known, but if you create a virus that will only potentially spread to 1% of all internet users instead of over 90% then which do youthink will get you the most attention :)

It isn't better, just not worth targeting yet :)

    sorry :D

And then there is the fact that it's not compatible with LOTS of sites and forums... Seems most of them were written for browsers like IE ;)

yeah, thats the only problem most sites are written for IE which, will hopefully change in the future.

although, 98% of sites still all work with firefox

Hm..firefox is not popular enough to be targeted by virus writers. That is a good thing is it no?. It is debateable which is the most flawed but there is definitely less chance of being caught out if you do use firefox and with the amount of money Microsoft plow into world domination, firefox will remain a less attractive target hence safer browser simply because far fewer bad guys are interested in it.
