Is it definite that from the 9th Dec 08 they will offer online banking for Basic accounts? Does that mean I will have to get them to remove the block on my account for online banking?

Yes, online banking is definitely now available for Cash Card account holders, ring up telephone banking to order online banking passcode, etc. You won't be able to have a cheque guarantee card or overdraft but you can get an Electron card, again call up - they may ask you to go into a branch for that though.

I only spoke to Barclays about getting the Connect card and t'Internet banking that they now offer on the CashCard account on the 5th Jan.
My new card and login details are apparently on the way...along with something called a PINSentry to use too.
