Might be slumming it for an EX bankrupt, but the Co-Op cashminder works fine at ATM etc and has on-line banking. Plus it's ethical. C'mon Max, show some solidarity with your old bankrupt mates. And the rainforests.

    Yep. :)

Plus you may now be able to switch to one of the other basic accounts that do offer those services. The ones that weren't available to you while undischarged.

dont tell me you buy into all that rainforest and ethical rubbish?

    1. Climate change, where was the last big summit?

Bali - and everyone flew in, probably NOT on scheduled flights

    2. Ethical?

what, like "Free trade"? like UK supramarkets screwing UK farmers on prices?

Anyway, the Co-op was down by about £12K due to my BR so cant see me being flavour of the month

MAx - I'm surprised all the fine banking institutions aren't falling over themselves to be the first to offer you a line of credit - don't they know who you are? Tell them I'll give you a reference that should do it.

But they still do online banking, so you could buy shares (online) in DrillBabyDrill PLC, if you wanted to!
  • Barclays now do Connect (Electronic) cards on their basic account and from 9/12/08 you will be able to register for online banking too. Ring up to telephone banking to request both.

Thats good to know....at least there are some Banks that are keeping up with the current climate. I think these sort of accounts will be in demand.

Kneale I recently tried upgrading my Basic account to a big boy account and it went to appeal, but I still got turned down. (I have been discharged 2years from BR). They have put a block on my Barclay's Basic account for Cheque Gurantee card, overdraft and online banking.

Is it definite that from the 9th Dec 08 they will offer online banking for Basic accounts? Does that mean I will have to get them to remove the block on my account for online banking?

    Thanks
