Is This A Good Buy??? HELP!!!

I have spent hours, literally  , looking online for the following for my little girl for Christmas.

An LCD TV/DVD with freeview for her bedroom.

I have found the following one and would really appreciate it if someone could just have a quick look and tell me I wouldnt be making a huge mistake!!
It seems to me to be a really good deal but I am completely hopeless with anything technical.

Thanks everyone :D

  • Karen, I have no knowledge of this tv, but here is a general comment.

Depending on where in the bedroom the tv will be located, you should check it out in the store from the same angle. Let me explain, all LCD TVs are ok viewing at eye level, but some appear much lighter when viewed from above and much darker when viewed from below.

Therefore if the tv in the bedroom will be mainly viewed from the bed and be above eye level then you should get down on your knees in the store! and see if the picture is still clear and not too dark.

    Hope that helps.

Oh I never thought of that, I have bitten the bullet and reserved one and will be collecting today so will try what you said before I part with any money. Hopefully they will have one on display.

sorry, just that you had reserved one - i had to do it - if you look at the times only for a minute though :)

On a serious note though - i think the problems with viewing LCD screens from an angle is long gone - may be wrong - but i think you'll be pretty safe.

Afraid not! I recently bought a 19" Acoustic Solutions LCD TV for the kitchen. This suffers from the problems I mentioned.
  • Hi all,

My wife has just reserved this TV from Comet and she will be picking it up shortly.

Looks like a good deal to me and your little girl will love it as a christmas present.
