Barclays are the same. You have to enter the 16 digit number on your card, which I don't think is a very good idea. Getting people used to giving away nearly all the information required to use the card for payments I mean.
And as someone else said, the agent still needs to take all your details anyway so what is the point? I asked them once why I needed to give my details as I'd already punched in the number. They didn't seem to understand and said that they don't have any information about me before they speak to me.
I refuse to enter it now and have to wait for the system to get bored of saying, "Sorry, I didn't understand that. Please try again." and put me through to a human.0 -
Couldn't agree more. Just yesterday I had to call NW Card services re my elderly and very deaf, father's statement. I ended up redialling 5 times just to make a payment. I also ignored all the requests to tap in information and you do eventually get through to a so called human - I say so called because their idea of customer service STINKS! Have complained but won't hold my breath waiting for an apology.0
