Not sure whats happening to my comnputer!

I wondered if anyone could help?

I have recently had my computer rebooted (by Dell) after they decided it was corrupt or something? (not very technical and didn't understnad but I was sick of the problems so I let them).

Everything had been going fine. And it had been a month so I am not 100% if the problem I am having is actually related, but its the not happened before.

I get several pages up, about 10 tavs? sometimes more, sometimes less. Then all of a sudden, one of them will freeze.
I have tried shutting the page down, but it wont shut down. Sometimes I am unable to get it out of the way so I can view other windows. The other windows all seem to work fine at the same time. It randomly chooses one window. Nothing to do with wahts on the page (e.g. it could be ebay, could be my email, could be MSE, could be tescos...etc)
I have also tried scanning my computer for adware- twice now. Nothing came up (I used adaware to check this).
I have a trial version of norton 360 (runs out in 2 days time) but this problem has been happening for longer then I have been using the 15 day trial so I really don't think its Norton.

I don't know what to do- I have Vista if anyone can advise- is there anything I can do? anything I can try?

Any help is much appreciated!

Thanks.

Edit- am aware I have spelt the title badly- cannot amend it now ! ooops!

    Try installing "Firefox"
    Firefox download for Windows.

See if it keeps happening. Sometimes if the page has lots of videos or flashy stuff a tab will freeze till it either times out or crashes!

Use the Reset Internet Explorer Settings feature from Internet Explorer 7

Follow these steps to use the Reset Internet Explorer Settings feature from Internet Explorer 7:
    1. In Internet Explorer 7, click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options.
    2. On the Advanced tab, click Reset.
    3. In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, click Reset.
    4. When Internet Explorer 7 finishes restoring the default settings, click Close, and then click OK two times.
    5. Close Internet Explorer 7. The changes take effect the next time that you open Internet Explorer 7.

For the love of God.....THEY ARE ALL OUTBOUNDS. Two of them actually claim a fail yet the pictures they show say otherwise.
I'm sorry mate but your belief in the contents of that site screams more about your lack of knowledge of computers than how bad Vistas firewall is.

So are you saying that outbounds are not important?

This video shows how easy it is to KNOCK OUT vistas firewall (Which will be the firewall that ALWAYS gets hit as so many people use it)

    Hi,
I have tried the firewall insted of I.E and the same thing keeps happening- I have noticed indirectly, that on all the pages that work fine, I have the "Norton" logo on the header, but on the one that freezes, the Norton logo is not there. Just the normal ones are- eg google.

I am not sure what to do- basicly, I don't want this to keep happeneing, but aside from that, I want to be able to get off the tab which apperas on the page -Please excuse my apologise- its there at the moment, it is the list which reads " Restore, Move, Size, Minimize, Maximize, Close" I want to close it so the tab will go away- and then I can see what I am doing insted of having a huge tab smack in the middle of my screen (I cannot see what I am writing here because it is covering the page-or a bigg part of the page so apologise for any errors here!)

I cannot click on the tab to close the page, all I get is the timer symbol which will not allow me to click on anything. I have no idea what to do other then to reboot again and again and again!!

If anyone has any advice or can instruct me on where to check for running programmes- I am not able to find this on my computer - I am not even sure if it will work! I just want to close the page!

I am reluctant to use AVG again, it made such a mess of things. Avast gave me so many pop ups I gave up and so I am willing to pay for something, -after christmas anyway! in the mean time I am using trials.
