Does interest accrued on ISA Balance count in the £3000 pa pay in limit?

I want to make sure that I top up my ISA at the start of April to have got the full £3000 for the year, but I am confused as to whether interest payments I get monthly added to the balance count as part of the £3000 limit. Does anyone know if the interest is counted?

No, interest is not counted, only actual cash you pay in.
I'd imagine there may be some people who will be earning in excess of £3000 annually in interest by now.
EDIT - I now realise that the above statement is highly unlikely, if not impossible.0
