Does interest accrued on ISA Balance count in the £3000 pa pay in limit?

I want to make sure that I top up my ISA at the start of April to have got the full £3000 for the year, but I am confused as to whether interest payments I get monthly added to the balance count as part of the £3000 limit. Does anyone know if the interest is counted?

  • No, interest is not counted, only actual cash you pay in.

I'd imagine there may be some people who will be earning in excess of £3000 annually in interest by now.

EDIT - I now realise that the above statement is highly unlikely, if not impossible.
