Quandary regarding Milkman.

Our milkman also has dreadful problems at times with gangs following him and stealing the milk as he delivers it. He certainly doesn't have an easy time.

I do a compromise as other posters suggest. I have 2 pints delivered daily (except Sunday) by the local farmer (further afield she can only do Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays). Extra milk comes in a big plastic container from the supermarket. Environmentally it feels right to use glass bottles mostly.
Although not strictly speaking economical, we do live 3miles from the nearest shop and I don't want to have to pop out for milk. Also, I feel for those who are housebound or who have difficulty getting out, so view it as a kind of community thing too. Very much a case of "use it or lose it" with milk delivery I think.
Our milklady is also a dairy farmer and a good friend who needs the round to help keep the farm going.
There are lots of issues with the simple "pinta" lol!0 -
Right, I'm going to compromise as people have sugested. Drop my order down to ten pints a week to start with and see how it goes plus I will still get my spuds from him. That way i'm still doing my bit but also watching the pennies. Thanks everyone.Rebel No 220
