Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced family hotel in London, room for 4, children are 14 & 5 as we are taking them to see Santa in Harrods on 15th Dec but want to stay overnight on the 14th.We are travelling to London Paddington and are budget concious. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

travel lodge or Premier Inns (I prefer the latter and if you have breakfast the children will get it free at PI).0

There are Travelodge rooms for your date (City Rd has a family room £32) but I'm not sure it's the best option with a 14 year old - the sofas really are for one or 2 very small ones! Try Holiday Inn, they have some deals - Kensington has a room with 2 double beds for under £100. Alternatively, 2 cheap Travelodge rooms!
The Travelodge link takes you to the previous page, don't know why, just click the arrow to move forward.0 -
Best advice I can give is to book a nice hotel as they reduce their rates for sunday night stays whereas the budget hotels usually don't. So you can usually get a 4* hotel for the same rate or less than a budget chain.
Try calling the Copthorne Tara at South Kensington on 020 7937 7211 and ask if they have any family rooms. They're currently doing a 14 day advance purchase offer on double rooms for £82.72 including breakfast and it's a very nice hotel.

Or the Holiday Inn Kensington has family rooms with two double beds for £95 including breakfast but excluding tax or £139 dinner, bed & breakfast but excluding tax.
