American Express Nectar Card (£30 free nectar points offer)

Hi. Im not sure if this is where im supposed to ask this and appologies if it is not, but just before Christmas, Martin sent out one of his usual moneysaving tips emails which had a £30 worth of nectar card points for opening an American Express nectar credit card via a link (think it was moneysupermarket from the top of my head). The t+c stated that the card had to be used before the 31st December to get the points...anyway we spent £7 on the card on 28th Dec and ive just checked my nectar statement and we have only received 2014 points (im guessing 14 for spending, and 2000 bonus instead of the 6000) . Im really miffed, has anybody else experienced this?? We only opened the account for the £30, for £10 it really wasnt worth it

me too.
got card in time and used it before 31/12/05 i also only got 200 points and i applied via martins link.
dont now what went wrong.
like you it seems a lot of messing for £10 but would have been worth it for £30

It was a MSE `promotion' - you had to apply via the link on the MSE website otherwise you only got 1000 points. I would be interested in Martin's view on this (not that it is his fault!) as it seems to be snowballing with more and more people saying they have the same problem (it is also mentioned in the American Express thread at the top). As I remember, you only only had to apply and purchase something before 31st December 2005 to qualify for the additional points.

Well i have had the same problem with my account, but called rewards customer service and they have added the 4000 missing points on.

So all sorted.

Rewards Customer Service number is 01273 863863

Also may i say they are very helpful as well

I've just checked my balance and Ive only been credited 2,000 points too. I'm really p*ssed of about this.

i only got 1000 points, phoned up rewards. was told been a lot of problems with the 6000 points but it would be put on to my card soon. i will wait and see what happens

have only just started following martins advice
the other things i`ve done have all gone ok hopefully this is a blip

Got my statement from Amex - spent £219 over Christmas - received only 2000 additional reward points - will contact Customer Service.

I have had the same problem.. just checked my nectar balance and only had 1000 points added and I definitely followed the link from this website.

I applied via the MSE site, received my card, spent money on it and still haven't received ANY points, let alone the 1000 or 2000 that others seem to have received.

Your points will be shown when you get your first statement.

I only got 1000 points reward from moneysupermarket and 1000 welcome points. Contacted reward customer services on 01273 863863, they said they have been having some problems with the reward scheme. Sarah was very helpful said she would check and get the points added if this was not possible she would ring be back. I only waited about a minute in the queue - phoned just now at 8:50am - (please change the clock!!!)

Just an update - we rung up American Express and was told that if we had read the terms and conditions in full (thought i had!) then i would know that only 2000 get credited on the first statement (1000 as a welcome and 1000 from moneysupermarket). The guy then said that on the second statement as long as we have spent on the card before 31st Dec then the extra 4000 would be shown then :j . Just had the first statement so will let you know if he was right when the 2nd one comes!!
