Short break advice needed, May 06' for family of 4

Hi there,
Wanting to get away for a short break at the very end of May with partner and 2 kids aged 9 and 10. Had a look at Centreparcs, only to be quoted min. £545 for a 3 night stay, which I thought expensive considering there's food to pay for on top of that!. We're in Northumberland, and have stayed at log cabins at Kielder which we enjoyed. So, we're looking at maybe something similar where the kids have stuff to be getting on with........walking, riding etc. Have stayed at Haven too, but think the kids are a bit past that now.
Does anyone know of anything up in Scotland? Even a nice hotel with a special deal on would be great (less work for me also!!)
Any help much appreciated!!
Kind regards,
Hels

Women marry men hoping they will change, men marry women hoping they won't! Inevitably they will both be disappointed.
