My PC (Hewlett Packard with DVD Writer +R/+RW) will only read CD's or pre-recorded DVD's. I can't get it to read any other DVD's. It was working before. I don't know what has happened. When there is a DVD in the drive, the My Computer option is crashing and then when it does try to 'read' a DVD it doesn't show any details in Windows Explorer.
A friend ran the Nero Info Tool on my PC and it said that "ASPI Installation is Corrupted". Can anyone suggest what I should do?
I'm trying to play my home movies I made at Christmas.

Same thing happened to my PC a while ago as it would play DVD movies but not read DVD-R or DVD+R discs. Roughly about 24 hours later I turned my PC back on again and got a messgae saying "windows has recovered from a serious error" and from then on DVD's work in my drive. Don't know what the error was but just glad it works OK0
