I am thinking of going wireless but doing it on the cheap. Not less quality but less money.
I have found this modem:- Belkin F5D7630 ADSL Modem router on play and wondered if anyone on the forum has the same model and can give their views both good and bad.
Under £18 I think its a bargain and a write up I've read say's its heavy but good value for money.
Any views please would be welcome.

It doesn't ~appear~ to support ADSL2+, so when your ISP upgrades your line, you'll be stuck with - IIRC - 8Mb/s when you could be getting 24Mb/s (in theory...)0

Heavy as in weight due to its metal construction and no way to mount it on the wall. It will have to sit on the desk.
ADSL2 - thanks, I did not think of that but then again the current average speed of 6 mbps that I am getting is plenty fast enough for me. I don't do gaming or streaming videos etc.
Thanks for the replies.

NEVER EVER EVER buy a Belkin ADSL Modem Router. They are utter dross and prone to failure, especially on the wifi side.0

Conor.
Do you have any suggestions on which one to get?

Their client-side software is pretty horrible (in the past); having said all that, i've seen them in operation and the speed/distance/range has always been decent enough. I don't think I'd purchase belkin myself (although it got a decent enough review below).

Agree with Conor that Belkin are very poor but asked around on another forum and the Netgear DG834 came up highly reccommended. Bought one last month and no broken connections since. The Belkin's, my first, my replacement (under the lifetime warranty) and a friends Belkin all kept dropping my wireless connection.A retired senior partner, in own agency, with 40 years experience in property sales & new build. I run a DG834G. It's now 4 years old and still going strong. The wifi connection is the fault I experienced and a friend of mine did. I see it's not changed.0

Thanks to all who responded.
I think I will put this on my Christmas list and see what appears!!
