  • Most will sell Thomson Holidays. They have their own Travel Agents and First Choice are also part of the TUI Group.

You'll get nowhere trying to beat a Tommy Cook or My Travel down as they are Thomson's sworn enemies.

Can't see you getting a great deal at the moment to be honest.

No reason why you shouldn't get a good deal. Especially if you shop around. I booked one of their cruises in September and managed to haggle on the cost.

First of all, find out the cost at their website. Then see what an independent travel agent will do it for. Then you know the price to beat. Go into a Thomson shop and see what they will do. Tell them you will book today if the price is right.

You can definitely get them to negotiate. I got more money off doing this and they beat the online price. They DO have some room to manoeuvre so don't be afraid to haggle.

Now is the time to get a good deal because most people are out christmas shopping not buying holidays december is always quiet the calm before the storm in january. You may get a better deal in january but normally the new editions of the brochures come out in december which usually have higher prices than the previous edition.
The best place to get a thomsons hol from is thomsons as they have more commision to play with to discount the price. I think thomsons prices in the shop are the same price as the internet but not 100% sure on that but if you get a quote off the internet and take it into the shop they will match it or possibly beat it. If they can only match it why dont you ask if you can have free/discounted insurance, cheap parking at the airport or a vip rate on currency.

Yes it is. I have used Portland Direct several times but when I had the confirmation of booking last year, it was all on Thomsons headed paper.

    Cheers

The last couple of holidays I've bought have had to be at a shop, but I never go there without doing my research. I usually check the online price, everything that's included there, and every time the shop has matched their online price, so cutting a big chunk out of the normal shop price :)
