I hear Hampshire was looking out for quick "Mellors", think you missed a trick....;)
I'd have been well in had I been wearing uniform ;) but with the IRA threat we had to travel in civvies, and in 1975 I think that was Cuban heeled shoes, wide lapelled, wide pin stripe suits where the trousers were flared and had turn ups, and a tie which had a 6 inch square knot.

She probably thought I was a very young pimp. :D

My brother was over the other day, he's 3 years younger than me, and took immense pleasure in reminding me that as a kid I used to tape record the pop songs that the cracker jack team used to sing. He was nearly wetting himself. Little prat.

Adey, I used to think the tape cassette was defunct until watching recent police dramas where they still use it to record interviews. Does that reflect reality? (I guess cassete recorders are clunky, but more reliable and longterm store-eable than digital)

Still in use when I was in, used to make two tape recordings one for us and one for them. There's been some hilarious one's where we've got the giggles. CPS though, never did see the funny side. :D

Been some crackers in Court as well.

My sergeant always cringes when he recalls being in Crown Court, cross examined by a defence barrister.

"Officer, is it not correct whilst you were conducting a serious interview of the juvenile, in the presence of his parents, in the hallway, PC Adey was playing on the stair lift, traveling up and down for over 20 minutes." :D
