I KNEW we prepared our cabbage incorrectly...

Amazing though, you'd think it was a photograph.

When you see these Dutch and Spanish still-lifes up close it literally takes your breath away: the droplets of water on the grapes, the bloom on a peach, the irridescence of the feathers of pheasant ... oh no, now I'm doing a Sewell!

Still-life with Quince, Cabbage, Melon and Cucumber

    1600 Sanchez Cotan

Oh dear! If this is your "John o' Groats" mine's in "Land's End" ;):D

Some would argue that is what lessens it's worth. Technically brilliant but lacks real emotion.

My abstract work was described as architectual "only fit for display in the smallest room in the house"

Hardly an original opinion, but the greatest by far.

Actually, I disagree. The verisimilitude itself is what I find so moving. The knobbliness of the cucumber is almost 'beyond' lifelike. I love that.
