Nationwide & Fraud - Won't reimburse.

I recently opened a Nationwide Flex account as I already had a book account with them from years back and they weren't charging to use the card abroad.
They sent the debit card out and then a few days later sent a letter out stating the card was faulty and a new card would be sent.
Unlike my other 3 bank account, Nationwide only get you to phone in to confirm safe receipt and enable the card if it is a credit card, with Nationwide the debit card is already activated, stupidly again they also sent out a PIN reminder, these both were stolen out of the post as they despatched at the same time.
Now the person who stole the debit card and PIN has been caught, but because these people have been caught, Nationwide will not refund the money fraudulently taken and we have to go through the court system to get it paid back - crazily if the people had not been known / caught, nationwide would have simply wrote it off.
So now I'm down several hundred pound over this Christmas period, and if I do get to see my money back, it will likely be at a pound or two a week or month.
I am now closing all my accounts with Nationwide and having nothing ever to do with them again.

(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)
