iTunes & Ipod help needed - please?

I bought an Ipod & reinstalled my cds into itunes - many of them failed when importing them originally. When I try to put the songs onto my Ipod, many of them have ! beside the songs. How do I eliminate this, so I can get them onto my Ipod? It sasys 'Couldn't find file - ..... locate it?'

Not sure what to do. Can anyone help?

Do the cds play on your computer through itunes?

Yup - just tried one - plays no problem using iTunes. Will delete it & try to add it again...

Sounds like you've failed to IMPORT the mp3 tracks in other words Itunes saves the mp3 tracks either inside the computer via a folder or keeps the mp3 info tracks ( ie where the mp3 is located )but NOT in a folder ?

One more thing - on some of the cd's I have had to copy/paste the album cover - how doyou add it to every song (by the same artist) in 1 go or do you have to do them all manually?

Have you tried the option on Itunes ( just select all while on itunes ) ;

( advanced ) get album artwork

Itunes should allow this ONLY if you've transferred these mp3 files from a CD, not from another source ( ie you taking 1000000 pirated mp3's and getting the artwork )
