Hiya SmlSave! My advice is go for it! We got engaged at the start of October and are due to be married in April, we have most things organised already and with minimal stress. My friend got engaged at the end of May this year and was wed in the start of September, so it's definitely possible. The one thing I would say is that you have to be willing to make decisions fairly quickly though. Good luck!!0

Heya Sml! Just nipped over to say Hi and now i've found ya i'm gonna keep uptodate with your planning journey!!! Did i mention how excited i am for you!!!!:D
6 months - yup, we did it in 9, 4 of which were spent not doing much tbh! Lots of coolio advice already from the others, so not much to add for now, other than dates do get booked up so quickly - top advice about getting in before christmas though, there's bound to be loads of proposals over christmas and new year.
All-in-one ceremonies are a brilliant idea as it does make life easier, that's what we wanted, but, we actually found it to work out more expensive. I think i mentioned in your other thread, we had a registry office ceremony, and the meal and do in a riverside pub 'inn' and that, plus the cost of the boat for all, actually worked out nearly a grand cheaper than doing it all in a hotel we had our sights on! Creativity is the key hun, ask friends, family, peeps on here, about alternatives and it's amazing what people come up with!
Hurray up and make some plans so we can get more excited and impart some more wonderful wisdom!!! lol, i don't envisage getting married again so i have to live it all again through others!!lol!!!! :j

Thank you for reporting the spam Alleycat - I have to ask - What hole?
And Thank You Everyone for giving me hope - I can do this!
I'm hoping to get my wedding dress in the Jan sales and thankfully OH's mum is a rather good seamstress! I'd like to get the bridesmaid dresses then too - if I can. Since I'd like them to have black dresses I hope it shouldn't be too hard...Got to pick the 'accent' colour though!
I definitely would like to get married on a Friday so here's hoping venues have some dates free!
Since we'd like an all in one venue we don't have to worry about transport too much but I didn't realise that photographers got booked up so early!
Hi MissusF! :wave:Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

Hi MissusF!
I had black BM dresses too and had the most amazing orange flowers. I had Mango Calla Lillies and orange Fresia and the BMs had orange Gerbera. They were bright modern and eyecatching and I loved them! They went really well with the black.
As table centre pieces I had huge fishbowls on mirrors with beargrass and orange gerberas wrapped inside. It all works out good in the end.If it's not good, it's not the end!0 -
That sounds amazing Karen!
We had a go at writing a list of people we migth invite to the weddings - it works out to about 50 people! I never thought we knew that many people.
Going to try and orgainise seeing some dresses next weekend with my mum to see what styles suit me - to be ready for the boxing day rush!
I don't think down to the ground dresses will suit my bridesmaids - is just below the knees acceptable?Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

It can be done. I organised my wedding in 3 weeks! Honestly, 6 months is heaps of time!If my typing is pants or I seem partcuarly blunt, please excuse me, it physically hurts to type. :wall: If I seem a bit random and don't make a lot of sense, it may have something to do with the voice recognition software that I'm using!0

I did mine in 9 weeks, that included white dress, full invites, flowers, 2 x churches (to keep various relations happy) 2 x receptions (to keep various relations happy)
Once you sort out what you want, you need to keep your toe up peoples backside to make sure they do their bit.
