from today - fri 28th nov - e-on are introducing a new social tariff for the most vulnerable customers called warm assist.
it is for properties with 2 people or less who all have to be over 60 and claiming pension credit.it gives you a flat discount of 15% off standard prices with no tie in or cancellation fee.
anyone moving onto this tariff though does not recieve dd discount or clubcard points.it is not available for customers on pre-pay meters.
it was due to start on monday 1st dec but has been moved to today.
information has been sent out to customers but if you feel that you may qualify ring e-on saying you have recieved info about warm assist and you will be passed through to the warm assist team if it is felt that you meet the criteria.they are the only people who can say yes or no.this tariff is not available to anyone under 60 or on any other benefits.
e-on have also announced yesterday that as long as the wholesale prices continue to remain stable prices will fall in the new year.
i am an e-on employee and although we already have staywarm and age concern as tariffs already it was getting frustrating that all the other energy companies had introduced a social tariff and we hadn't -although staywarm was mentioned as our social tariff-so i'm glad this has been introduced.
if you know of any e-on customer that may qualify please feel free to pass this info on.i hope this helps some people over this winter period.

Totally agree. And this is the exact reason we need a far tougher regulator than the FSA-like OFGEM.Call me Carmine....
