Matched donations.

We've managed to get someone form Barclay's bank to attend our ptfa Christmas fair, and so we can take advantage of Barclay's matching the money we take (up to a limit):j:T:j:T.
Are there any other companies that offer the same sort of deal to match what you make?

Shell, the oil company, will match fund employees' charitable fundraising.

I believe at least one other of the banks will - not sure which one it was whose employee did a half-marathon for us and match funded it.

Try the local regeneration agency of your council, sometimes they have small "community chest funds" that they give if you can put something as match-funding already. If you do not have money donors sometimes it is acceptable to put down match-funding "in kind", by calculating the cost that each volunteer would cost if you were paying them (hope it makes sense).

HBOS do, up to £500. See http://www.hbosfoundation.org/index-fundraising.html and scroll to the bottom 'Colleague Matched Funding'.

RBS used to do this too. They also used to award employees £250 each if you were on the PTA at schools - towards the PTA funds. You couldnt claim both - it was either one or the other. I used to get parents who worked for RBS to help out at kids disco's then we could claim they were on the PTA. We used to make an easy £1000 per year this way.

RBS definitely do and they do 3 times your donation if you make a regular payment via your pay- I pay all my charities like this :D

I didn't know about the PTA thing- makes sense as to why a lot of my colleagues are on them!
