My 12 months is almost up. I think the last debit from my current a/c (with another bank) happens later this month. Will the direct debit continue and will Halifax use it to lock me in for another 12 months? I have no intention of regular saving with Halifax for another 12 months.

Yes it will continue money will go out on the same day ... why not continue , 7% is a good rate ?
If you want it closed then cancel the standing order using your online account, the account will automatically be closed because you will have failed to abide by its T&C0 -
Thanks, I'll just log into my current a/c and cancel the standing order a few days before.
Does this mean the regular saver just rolls over forever untill they decided to top offering it or I stop my standing order payments?
I'm cancelling because I may aswell use HSBCs regular saver as I bank with them, and I can't afford to put aside money on 2 regular saver accounts.0 -
When you stop the standing order they will move all your money from the regular saver account to their web saver account, and that ends the regular saver contract that year, why not keep it going with the min payment £25To be happy you need to make someone happy.0
