help with my cancelled Egg credit card charges

Not sure if this is the right place for this question, so forgive me if it's not! I had an Egg card that was cancelled by them few months ago. I had trouble paying more than the minimum each month and the interest kept making me go over my limit, which they charged me for each time. I was just wondering if they can keep charging to the balance if I am not using the card anymore. Just seems that all I am repaying at the moment is the charges and not the balance...
any advice welcome thanx

It's definitely not the best idea to continue charging on that card, even though it is technically ok. You are only putting yourself in more debt!0

it's not me charging on the card - it's Egg charging me for being over my limit every month and late payment charges each time!0

You have to leave enough available balance to accomodate any interest or other charges. If the card goes over limit for any reason they will keep adding more charges.I have experience of this last year as I was in the same situation with a card for a period of about 3 months. The only thing you can do is bring the balance down quickly.Either do a full or partial bt to another card (check the minimum payment wont be more between the two cards than you are paying now)or make one big payment to that card to get it far enough under the limit that the next lot of charges wont take you over again.
When I was in this situation I asked my bank to increase my overdraft and used my overdraft facility to make a whopping payment and although I was using more credit to get myself out of trouble the interest for the overdraft was far less than for the credit card and it saved me from getting any more charges.
I then just started throwing any money I had at the most expensive debt first, moving it to cheaper debt when I could and have now been debt free for a few months.
Good luck."Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0
