That's what the media coin it as, and it's meant to hit you in your mid twenties. But yes, it may be a just a tad on the postive side to live under the assumption you'll one day be getting a letter from the queen! Evening Ed, been away for a couple of days
Off anywhere nice, or just away from forum land?
We're good thanks, although feeling as slow as everyone else is the morning after the long weekendI'm a little nervous at the mo as I (hopefully) enrol for uni tomorrow and will be posting off that job application. Other than that, my boss is still off so work is proving fairly relaxing (still in the summer holiday lull).
Today used to be one of my favourite days of the month, as I got to see all my savings pots tot up for the month. That's not going to be happening for the next few months, however, as I need to pay my course fees (and £200 for my brother's stag do next year ). He's got to be the only stag who books (and expects guests to pay for) his do seven months in advance!
Then it's Christmas.... Ah well, debt free 2099? :rotfl:0 -
Morning.
Just been away to the seaside for a few days with DD. Had a fab time, was so lovely to spend some quality time with her.
You''ll be fine with your enrolment, just think its one step closer to that dreamProud to be dealing with my debts - DFW No: 712

I'm not nervous about the enrolment per se, it's more whether or not I'm allowed to enrol. I wish that I didn't leave it so late, the admissions folk must think I'm a total nuisance as I'm in touch with them so much0 -
Well fingers crossed it will be ok.
I am on the last part of my degree at the moment and was thinking at the weekend what I wanted to do next. There are a few pipe dreams I have always had and wonder whether it's time to bite the bullet and do it.Proud to be dealing with my debts - DFW No: 712

Like updating your signature?
I'm kidding!
The one of the thing that I've come to learn as I undergo my metamorphosis from silly student to savvy adult is the fact that pipe dreams are absolutely fine and there's nothing wrong with following a dream if you honestly believe that you can make something of it.
I'm only trying my hand a chef(ing) because the debts are almost gone and I've managed to build up a couple thousand a year in my pension pot (so I won't starve when I'm old).
If you can keep a roof over your heads and food on the table, go for it - life's too short to say 'what if'.0 -
I'll have you know "mister" my signature is up to date. No more payments to go now just the big ones when the house money finally comes through.
Not sure what to do now, I suppose I should set myself a savings target/challenge type thing.Proud to be dealing with my debts - DFW No: 712

I must be high, was sure I remembered you saying that you were now DF. Or was that before your solicitors decided to act like idiots? Not sure what to do now, I suppose I should set myself a savings target/challenge type thing
That's a good idea. Maybe you could try and set up a regular mortgage overpayment (10% for example), or set yourself an £x a day savings target for some unspecified future event, or an activity/trip for you and DD?0 -
Well I am debt free as in I am not paying anyone any more money lol but I am waiting a letter confirming the payments have actually been made by the sols.
I can't do regular overpayments on my mortgage at the moment, being a single person I wasn't inundated with mortgage offers so unfortunatey had to take the best I could. They have said I can do a lump sum payment a year though so I need to aim for £x a year.
Just got to work out what a reasonable amount to save is a month. I really should do an up to date SOA in the new house and with my new wages.Proud to be dealing with my debts - DFW No: 712
