small income affecting tax credits?

Currently my husband works full time and I take care of our 2 daughters fulltime. we recieve some tax credits but I was wondering if I did something like Avon to bring in some extra cash will it affect our tax credits? say if I earned £100 a month would I recieve £100 less in credits therefore working for nothing! please advise

  • Normally it wouldnt affect your award in the current tax year but your current year income fugure will be used to calculate your award for next year.

It doesn't reduce £1 for £1, it is only 39p in the £1.

This means for every £1000 more you earn this year it will reduce your award for next year by £390.
