Are Retailers really doing as bad as they say - I think not!

  • Surely the fact that they arent/ cant give discounts or offer freebies shows how tough it is out there ?

This whole ''freebie'' thing is farce anyway , Its not free ,the cost will have been built into the price anyway.
  • My point is that if the bricks and mortar retailer is going to charge more then they should provide something for it - such as the ability to take the item immediately. A bit of customer service wouldn't go amiss either. If they had offered those things they could have made a sale yesterday but they didn't.

As I mentioned, I was prepared to pay more if I could take the item immediately so I didn't have to wait in for a delivery.

In the end there was zero incentive to buy from them but they wonder why sales are flagging.

I suspect if they read or watch the news, they know exactly why sales are flagging!

You could take your pound and buy woolworths with it. They then might offer you employee discount.

I'd put money on the DSG group being next on the block. They are only good for seeing an item in the flesh before I go and order it online.

id have to disagree with you, DSG are a big company and are going to be around for some time
