Cheque Cashing question

Hello all,
not sure if this is the right board but....
One of the people I work with have got themselves into a bit of trouble with there bank but doesnt want his our work to know, we got paid by cheque and so he is thinking of using a cheque cashing service ( i've told him he would be better off going to Halifax and opening the basic account there but he needs the money asap)
However, his problem is that if he goes down this route he doesnt want his work to know as hes a bit ashamed of his current situation. Does anyone know if he his work would find out, do they confirm the cheque?, does it appear different on there statements etc
I have no idea when it comes to cheque cashing

It's a moronic way to do it ...... but no, his employer won't be able to tell from the cleared cheque (unless they get a copy after it's cleared and analyse the Bank clearing data on the back .... which is beyond most people outside the industry).
The only thing going for him is that salary cheques are 'safer' than the norm (you don't work at Woolies or MFI !) ..... so the charges from the cheque encasher should be 'less'.
But 'less' is still criminal ..... so push him in the direction of sorting out a basic account? If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0
