  • Thanks that is a good idea about the jar! I have taken the whole thing a bit too much to heart I think and your right memories are made of time together not things.

This site has been a godsend this year and I have saved a fortune purely through coming on here and trying to re- educate myself in the art of moneysaving.

I am doing my best to distract the kids now plenty of christmas craft to keep them amused and off the horrible talk I had with them about strangers, it seems to be working :)

Dont think about this anymore & concentrate on enjoying xmas with what you have got, your kids will be happy I am sure.

My son has been desperate for an xbox & has just got one as a joint birthday (4 Nov) & xmas (cant spend that much on one occassion). We had to get a router & live subscription too so it adds up. But over the summer my son helped to sell his lego on ebay, car boot & other old toys (he is 14 now) with a request for contributions to the xbox games etc from family he has what he so wanted!! Xmas will consist of just a few bits & pieces but he assures me he needs nothing else & is happy!!
Over the year we have had a big jar & saved copper & 5p's, we ended up with £22 which went towards the £30 live subscription. The jar has been started again for next year. If your son does the same he will be surprised how it mounts up.

Hope you have a nice xmas x
    NEVER ASSUME!
