Hey all..
The folks are wanting to put some old VHS videos of me and the sis from when we were kids on to dvd.
Can anyone recommend any companies online or any highstreet shops which do this.
Is there varying qualities? Is there anything I need to know?

I would have used my own initiative if someone would have told me to!

Several places now sell an Ion VHS player that plugs into a USB port to do it yourself for £150. Looking around it'll cost at least £5/hour for someone else to do it. If you've got loads to do buy one and sell it when you've finished, they're only fetching about £30 less on Ebay used than new.0 -
I think she only has two so wouldn't be really worth it.
Which places can do it?I would have used my own initiative if someone would have told me to!0 -
Anyone with a dvd recorder could do it for you- dvd recorder cost from £60 at asda.

If you've also got a camcorder I would recommend a DVD recorder with a built in hard-drive. Connect your VHS or camcorder to the DVR, press record. It's that easy. You can also edit the footage before burning onto DVD. Prices start from around £100.

I've just posted this on another thread - and I don't work for the company! Lol.
A cheap and simple way of doing this:

Going for £14.99 + £7.99 p&p at the moment.You just need a PC/laptop with a DVD rewriter to do your DVD burning. HTH.0 -
Aldi have a USB based unit that has software for the capture and editing on a PC and also software to create the dvd on sale for £19.99. You connect the VCR to the usb stick and can themn transfer the film to the PC.
There are also VCR/DVD combinations that will copy from the tape to DVD but they are £100+ i think.0 -
i used a dvd recorder and borrowed a video player. connected it together through scart lead. play on video and recorder on dvd which worked fine :j0
