Accepted for a credit card, ok to get another immediately?

As the title suggests.

I got accepted for the tesco credit card but still have debts on another that I would like to transfer to a 0% card. Would it affect my credit rating etc if I applied for another card straight away even though I have just been accepted for one? Or should I wait 6 months as the recommended time for making applications for credit cards. Guess I don't want to be rejected for a new card to affect my rating too.
Anyone else been in this situation?

Your help is welcomed! :)

2 credit cards isnt too many.

I would risk another application now if I were you. If you get it you will save money
  • i already have 2, i got accepted for this which makes it 3 in total.....i'll have to apply for a 4th to transfer one over which mean i'll have 3 in total.

I don't think it will be a problem, but then I've had into double figures before now.
  • what as in double figures the number of cards you owned?

Yep, and there are posters that have had even more.

I believe the average is 5 so you really aren't doing anything too unusual.
  • does the actual limit of the cards matter in terms of rating? i.e. someone having a limit of £1000 total will have a higher rating than someone who has £10k credit with the same number of cards right?
  • Cool looks like i'll apply for another one. trouble is i'm already with virgin and barclaycard and just got tesco. want another card that will offer long term 0% deals. any suggestions kind people?

im going to close down my barclaycard once that has been transferred so i can reuse again in the future.

just to add in the edit, i do check the weekly mail to see which cards martin has suggested but as im with virgin (mbna) my long term 0% balance transfer options are limited so wondered if there are others out there. thanks
