Accepted for a credit card, ok to get another immediately?

in Credit cards
As the title suggests.
I got accepted for the tesco credit card but still have debts on another that I would like to transfer to a 0% card. Would it affect my credit rating etc if I applied for another card straight away even though I have just been accepted for one? Or should I wait 6 months as the recommended time for making applications for credit cards. Guess I don't want to be rejected for a new card to affect my rating too.
Anyone else been in this situation?

2 credit cards isnt too many.
I would risk another application now if I were you. If you get it you will save money :beer:0 -
i already have 2, i got accepted for this which makes it 3 in total.....i'll have to apply for a 4th to transfer one over which mean i'll have 3 in total.0

I don't think it will be a problem, but then I've had into double figures before now.0 -

Yep, and there are posters that have had even more.
I believe the average is 5 so you really aren't doing anything too unusual.0 -
does the actual limit of the cards matter in terms of rating? i.e. someone having a limit of £1000 total will have a higher rating than someone who has £10k credit with the same number of cards right?0

Cool looks like i'll apply for another one. trouble is i'm already with virgin and barclaycard and just got tesco. want another card that will offer long term 0% deals. any suggestions kind people?
im going to close down my barclaycard once that has been transferred so i can reuse again in the future.
just to add in the edit, i do check the weekly mail to see which cards martin has suggested but as im with virgin (mbna) my long term 0% balance transfer options are limited so wondered if there are others out there. thanks0
