Young master Lokolo you are acting like a 19 year old, which I gather you are, but a very immature one. I had hopes for you.

I in no way hate IFAs. At the same time it completely correct on a forum such as this that people should understand the pitfalls when anyone is remunerated by differential commission that can lead to potential conflicts of interest.

These forums are simply for IFAs to use to garner business leads, even though Dunston has said in the past the amount of business he gets here is small. Nor can their views go unquestioned.

If you must do your brown-nosing please do it in private.

    I'm 20, close!

Dunstonh gets very very very little, if any from this forum. He has helped me and many others understand about savings, investments and pensions and I am thankful for that so I don't like to see people going around slating his career. Theres no need for it. Do I go around saying about your and your pitiful life which is going nowhere? (I don't know what you do or anything so can't mention that :)) No. Because theres no need for it.

I particularly like the comment which I have put in bold. You know its not true, if it was then you would not mention it or anything to do with it.

We were discussing the word investing, yet you had to bring his career into this where it hasn't been mentioned (by all means if dunston has said 'As an IFA' or words to that effect, then by all means, go for the slating). So pretty much, don't have anything useful to say, don't say it all.

By all means I know you aren't a complete regular in this forum until late but others have come in and slated dunstonh for being an IFA and what he has said. He is trying to help, theres no need to go slap him in the face for it.

OK so you're Lokolo aged 19 and three quarters. But you have an awful lot to learn.

I'm very, very, very old; old enough to be your great-grandfather. When you get to be as old as me, and seen as much, then you will then understand just how little you knew at 19 and three-quarters.

Now I suggest you go to bed.

I meant I am 20, you were close. Not close to 20

And by all means I am sure you have seen more in this world and have experienced more, all I want is for you to stop mentioning about him being an IFA or slating him or his profession. It will mean discussions go a lot easier on here, trust me :o

And not going to bed, watching Without a Trace. :D (plus doing work!)

Now lets just leave it at that.

I'm sorry Lokolo very naive 20 year olds don't get to make the rules and you will need to be a lot older, wiser, and shrewder before I, or anyone with any sense, trusts to your advice. ;)

Just because I don't make the rules it doesn't mean I haven't seen the consequences.....

Anyway, I am going to bed now, so nighty night.

Seeing is one thing, understanding is quite another. Goodnight. ;)

Shame, I thought this thread was going to be about finding the best savings accounts for £30k.

I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.
  • This thread with the title of £30,000 Investment Challenge - Can you beat it? was started because the OP wanted some suggestions on what to do with his money AFAIK

I am pretty sure that he didn't want a load of comments like "my bike is better than yours" "my dad's harder than yours" or the classic "i'm older than you so i'm right and you're wrong"

Please OP, correct me if i'm wrong (if you can get a word in edge ways that is!)

Oh and by the way, if it was me best paying ISA first, best paying 1yr or 2yr Fixed term account second (only for an amount I knew I definatley wouldn't need access to), best paying Instant access account third for the majority

To me Regular savers are OK when you want to save so much per month from your income, not much point otherwise (although some would disagree)

As rates are changing daily I havent included any reference to specific products offered.

Which you will notice is what I did in the first reply to the OP before he was given the unrequired English lesson in the next post.
