Hi carroll998,
Welcome to MSE!
You will be entitled to a premium on means tested benefits now you have been awarded DLA. Could I ask how long you have been on IB, as you may already receive the premium?Gone ... or have I?0 -
You're right I believe, Recipt of DLA automatically entitles you to the disability premium for Income support.http://www.jobcentreplus.gov.uk/JCP/Partners/Allowancesandbenefits/Dev_010039.xml.html
Just drop jobcentreplus a line stating that you have had a change of circimstances namely you are now in reciept of dla (lower rate of care) and you understand this entitles you to the disablity premium. (you can use one of their change of circumstance forms whch sometimes come with their letters if you have one). send the front page of your award letter (take a copy).
Always do this kind of thing in writing otherwise you have no record of it. Having said that DWP should notify jobcentreplus anyway (I think).0 -
this explains the premiums and if you are entitled
