Just had a phone call from Kerrang radio.
I've to turn up at the Tamworth Snowdome tomorrow to race someone uphill in a pair of ski's to win a weeks holiday in Austria for two.

Sadly I came second out of two.
Still, I get a voucher for a free skiing lesson as a consolation.

If only they'd given me it before I might have known what I was doing !

I've come down the slope a few times on a toboggan (and several times following the toboggan) but never on a pair of skis before.

Put your heels together with your toes turned out (like the 1st position in ballet if you know what this is). Open your legs so your feet are hip width apart. Now walk, on the inside edge of your feet, keeping your feet in the same position! That's the quickest way to walk uphill in skis.

If you can't do that, imagine that you are standing sideways on the slope (I.e. Not facing up or down the slope!) With your top foot step up, bring the lower foot to meet the top foot and repeat over and over, fast!!

lol, make sure you do chip shapes when coming down the slope

pizza and chips easiest way to remember the shape to have your skis, chips will make you go faster pizza will slow you down a bit

and watch for the crash barrier at the bottom, and on the right handside there will be a box beware of that LOL

you might aswell strap a board on, more fun than skis muhahaha
