Argos Free Accessory Pack not in stock as unsafe!

Hi I have never posted on here before but hope someone can help

I bought a mamas and papas aria pushchair (376/3306) from argos for £79.99 on 4th November which came with free accesory pack of changing bag and footmuff - essential for winter and a great bargain. When I got the collection point I was advised the free accessory pack was out of stock and given a voucher to claim it within the next 2 months i.e before 3 Jan 2009. Not happy but told it should be in stock within 10 days so waited. Cannot check stock on internet as free products do not show up :rolleyes: .

Have phoned local store to check stock about 3 times and get same answer no stock in UK not sure when next delivery arriving.

Emailed Customer services and they say "product has some quality control issues and are awaiting an engineers report before releasing stock" Cannot say when/if they will releasing product. I have asked for an alternative mamas and papas accessory set (376/0440) and they said it's a store manager discretion!

Will visit Argos tomorrow any tips ideas how to best approach the subject. + What are my rights to the alternative product or to obtain refund/compensation on a free item?

If you can put all the items back in the box in a resaleable condition you can return in under the 30-day money back guarantee for a full refund, however if you got a free £5 voucher you will need to return that too.

In regards to the alternative accessories pack it will be upto the store manager's discretion, and is perferctly able to say 'no' and making you wait for your free item. The terms and conditions state that all offers are subject to availability. The store MAY give you the value of the free accessories pack on a gift card for you to choose (again store manager's discretion), but the accessories pack included with this buggy may not be the same one as the alternative one you've asked for.

As for compensation, I doubt it, unless you ask the store to pay your petrol costs, you will have to ask the customer advisor.
