Hi,

I just moved to new house and it has got gas meter which read in cubic feet. I am trying to work out how much KWH gas I use. I am bit counfused as my meter read in cubic feet which is cubic feet only or it is in hundreds of cubic feet(hcf)?? Nothing like "hcf" written on meter !! Because either of it will make a huge difference in bill. I haven't got my first bill yet.
I am using around 3 units a day( house unoccupied during day and 3 radiators are on during night-in bathroom, bedroom and hallway)

Thanks for reading and I hope someone can help me.

  • To convert hcf to cubic metres multiply by 2.83. Imperial meters measure in cubic feet but the 2 dials/numbers in red (i.e 1's and 10's) aren't used for billing hence hundred cubic feet.
