Digital photo frame help please

Was just wondering whether you could upload piccies straight from your PC onto any of these digital photo frames. Was thinking of getting one of these as a present for someone who doesn't have a digital camera so would need to upload photos to it first

Don't know if this is possible - thanks in advance for your help :D

The one I bought the missus had an SD card slot in the back (I think most of them do). All I did was copy photos onto an SD card (1GB ones are cheap and probably more than enough space) and all worked fine.

The only thing I would say is that it is probably worth testing a few photos before you give it to someone. The photo frame I bought had a resolution of 800x480 ... which is not a resolution that many cameras had. I cropped the photos from the digital camera using 'paint.net' and they filled the screen nicely (otherwise you risk having black bars or nastily stretched images).

So ... buy a photo frame which takes SD cards ... buy and SD card ... and buy and SD card reader for your PC ... then you can upload photos straight from the PC (SD card and reader shouldn't be much more than £20).

  • Well worth spending the time preparing ("cropping") the photos

Here my earlier suggestions on that issue - Link
  • Thank you both very much - really useful info.

I had almost given up on this as nobody had answered

    Thanks again :T

I bought one of these last year for my parents, they don't have a digital camera either (or a card reader on the computer, which would be needed to transfer photos on SD card, I'd imagine) but often get photos of grandchildren etc emailed to them.
The one I bought (Tesco) had a usb slot so my dad could just copy the photos onto a memory stick and plug it into the photo frame. Simple.
Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the end

  • Thank you Jackie - seems there's a few more ways than I thought

we have 3 of these at work and they are good. If you notice in the specs box further down they can take many different cards and pen drives as well.
