Will OfficeXP run on a laptop with vista

Don't know if anyone can help
I am looking to buy a Laptop quite fancy the Toshiba L300-11V what I want to know is I have Microsoft Office XP Standard for students and Teachers Version 2002 running on my desktop would I be able to use this on the laptop.
Would it be compatible as the laptop has vista on it or do I need to buy another newer student office suite for the laptop.
Many thanks
Thanks to MSE savings we got to go to Disneyworld Florida.

It should work fine, but you may have to buy another copy due to licensing.
Why not try out Open Office it's MS Office compatible and free
  • It will run and I don't think you'll need to buy another copy as (you'll need to check the EULA) you can perhaps use it on a Portable and Static PC together
It's taken me years of experience to get this cynical

Office XP works fine and, IIRC, the Student and Teacher editions are licenced for three PCs anyway.

If you're a student why not get MS Office 2007 Ultimate edition? https://www.theultimatesteal.co.uk

£45.95 from http://www.software4students.co.uk/Microsoft_Office_Professional_Plus_2007-details.aspx if you dont have an educational email address - though of course you must be a student okay - though they will take your word for it so you dont have to prove it

If you are a student with a edu email address then superscrapers link is cheaper
Freebies you don't really need can be given to your local Hospice Charity shop so they can raise funds they desperately need. Pass on your good fortune :A
  • Thank you so much for all your help I assumed I may have to rebuy a licence but as I am still a student if it wont let me load my current one on then at least I can buy another student one with the help of the links you've provided. I may have used it 3 times already as I originally installed it then got a virus and had to reinstall once computer had been totally wiped Then when I upgraded the computer last year I installed it on my new one but won't know until I try.

Aah, the lovely automated validation system.

As a general rule, it will activate it happily over the internet if the last activation was over 90 days ago. Otherwise you'll have to answer some automated questions about how many PCs it is on etc.
